Our Mission:

Our mission is to provide services in the area of community revitalization which includes but are not limited to providing social services, promoting health education and literacy. This will be accomplished through the promotion of physical fitness education for families as well as financial literacy targeted toward low income and single-family homes.

Core Strategies:

Antioch’s Get Healthy Now 5K Walk/Run is ACCDC’s main fundraiser. The Race is a competitive yet family friendly event that also has a youth run for ages 2-13 years. The aim is to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy lifestyles among all individuals. Register at www.runningfoundation.com

Spirit and Sports summer camp

is designed to increase physical activity and encourage healthy eating among at-risk and obese youth between the ages of 6-12 years. The camp is five day’s, which features daily physical activities such as soccer, volleyball, track and field, basketball, karate as well as nutritional education, journaling etc. Register at (517) 327-0967

Antioch’s Smiles for Christmas

is a New Bicycle/Helmet give away to low income and at risk families. This program has giving away almost 500 bicycles/helmets to date. This is a Christmas holiday seasonal event.

Hannah’s Resource Center

is a program, which focuses on single-family homes, and low-income women. HRC provides financial literacy education, basic employment strategies, interviewing techniques as well as physical fitness and nutrition emphasis.

Antioch’s Back to School Rally

is a community activity whereby we give away backpacks filled with school supplies for 5-12 years. Middle school and High School receive selected prizes. The BTS Rally is mobil, the target area is a low income-housing complex in the City of Lansing. The rally is grassroots where a festive back to school environment is created.
